Frances Lillian Ilg (1902–1981), MD
Dr. Ilg earned her MD from the Cornell Medical School in 1929 and was a pioneering scholar in the study of infant and child behavior. Working with professors Louise Bates Ames and Arnold Gesell, they co-authored > 20 books, many of which were bestsellers. She also advanced the theory that a child’s start in school should be based on maturity level.
