Pauline Newman, LL.B., Ph.D.
Pauline Newman was a chemist who received her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Yale in 1952. In 1958, she graduated from New York University School of Law. She began service as a patent judge in 1984, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In 1989, she was awarded Yale’s Wilbur Cross Medal in the Physical Sciences (Chemistry) and in 2013, she was honored by New York University Law Women as Alumna of the Year.
