GLS October Activities Calendar

This is a G/L/S activities schedule for the month of October, 1991. This calendar shows a refusal by the GLS Coalition to remain silent about the AIDS Epidemic which was impacting the queer community heavily during this time. By holding vigils in the Prayer Chapel each night, the GLS brought attention to this issue in Christian religious spaces.

National Day of Silence Candlelight Vigil Flier

This flier advertises a vigil organized by the Coalition in 1997 in honor of the second annual National Day of Silence. The flier calls for the specific recognition of voices “who continue to be silenced by the Church.”

"Like Peter, we repent of the times when we have denied God, ourselves and each other. And like Peter we receive god's forgiveness and command to work for the furtherance of God's commonwealth by celebrating who we are and working for a world in which all will enjoy the freedom to be."

-Elizabeth Stuart

"Gathered to Celebrate Past, Present, and Future" was a Christian worship service held on April 28, 1996 in the Divinity School's Marquand Chapel. It was led by the G/L/S/B Coalition and featured reflection on denial and reconciliation.
