G/L/S Efforts & Events (1985-1996)
Looking Back to the Beginning
The G/L/S Coalition Newsletter that was sent out in September, 1985 shares activities discussed at the group’s organizational meeting. Despite it being titled “Newsletter #2,” it is the earliest newsletter we have in the collection. It marks the beginning of the archival presence of an organized LGBTQ+ student group at Yale Divinity School.
In these early years (1985-1996), the efforts and events of the Coalition reflected the wide array of student needs and interests. These efforts and events appear to fall into four main areas: Activism and Advocacy, Education, Faith and Worship, and Fellowship and Fun.
