Women Enrolled at Yale Divinity School

When women were first allowed to enroll in a degree program at Yale Divinity School, their number was capped at 10 women per entering class. This cap remained until the early 1940s. Since then, the number of women enrolled at YDS has risen dramatically, with women comprising around 50% of the current student body and first becoming a majority of the student body in 2011. The ratio of women faculty reached 50% in 2019.
