The Play's the Thing: 50 Years of Yale Repertory Theatre

Celebrating 50 Years

Yale Rep's 50th anniversary was widely celebrated. In addition to the exhibition from which this digital exhibition was adapted, The Play's the Thing: 50 Years of Yale Repertory Theatre, curated by Lindsay King at the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library, Yale Rep was also celebrated at the New York Public Library in an exhibition titled Yale Rep at 50: Daring Artists, Bold Choices. An exhibition of the same name was installed at the Aisling Gallery at The Study in New Haven.

Yale Rep was also featured in an NPR story titled "Yale Repertory Marks 50 Years As A Theater Incubator" as well as a CBS Sunday Morning special

Some of the most iconic affiliates of the Yale Rep and the Yale School of Drama, including past and current deans, actors, writers, and artistic directors, convened for a panel discussion of the theatre's evolution throughout the years. Moderated by playwright James Magruder, the panelists shared some of their favorite memories working with Yale Rep.
