Margaret Davis is a paleoecologist. She served at Yale as a research fellow (1960–1961) and an instructor and professor of biology (1973–1976). She studied vegetative composition and pollen sedimentation in lakes. In 1982, she was elected to the National Academy of Sciences. She has served as President of the American Quaternary Association (1978–1980) and as President of the Ecological Society of America (1987–1988). Davis currently serves as Regents’ Professor Emeritus at University of Minnesota’s Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior.
