Lynn Cooley, Ph.D.
C.N.H. Long Professor of Genetics and of Cell Biology, Yale School of Medicine and of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology
Dean, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
Lynn Cooley’s research focuses on the cell biology of egg and sperm development in Drosophila. A major interest of her research is communication between cells through intercellular bridges called ring canals. Her lab is also investigating differences in the regulation of gene expression in germline cells (which make eggs and sperm) compared to cells in the central nervous system. She has been named a Pew Scholar and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She has served as President of the Genetics Society of America.
