Biography
Born in San Francisco in 1868, Daniel Seales (sometimes spelled Seáles) graduated from Central High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Western Reserve University from 1887 to 1888 before transferring to Yale in his sophomore year. At Yale, he participated in the Glee Club. After receiving his BA and JD from Yale, Seales worked as an estate lawyer in Cleveland from 1893 to 1898. From 1898 to 1914, he worked as junior counsel to Yale graduate Theodore Fitch (Yale College,1864) in New York. He returned to working in estate law from 1914 to 1926, and was in business in the western United States, Mexico, and Latin America from 1926 until 1949. He died in 1949 in New York City.
