Alfred Louis Jackson

Biography
Alfred Louis Jackson was born on July 3, 1884, in Washington, D.C. His father was John Louis Jackson, a waiter at C. & O. Railroad, and his mother was Lula Dabney. He attended the M Street High School in Washington, D.C. During his time in high school, he assisted in editing an issue of The Colored American.1 He graduated from the M Street High School in 1904 and enrolled at Yale College.2 At Yale, he was a member of the Washington Club at Yale.3 He was at Yale from 1904 to 1907 and left in March of 1907 due to poor health. He returned home to Washington D.C. where he died on June 12, 1910.4
