Article about pediatric AIDS, highlighting Leetha (Fraulino) Filderman, from Fairpress, December 10, 1986

Leetha Fraulino, the coordinator of the AIDS Program at the Yale New Haven Hospital, spends a great deal of time educating people about the illness. She explains that they tested the children of high risk mothers. Telling somebody that the test came back positive was a difficult conversation that required compassion. When this article was published in 1986, HIV+ children who lived to be 5 or 6 years old were the best-case exceptions.
