Biography
Edward Enoch Reed was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1852. He attended Howard University before transferring to Yale University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1878. He reported that due to poor health he was unable to work for a number of years, but recovered and went into business in Baltimore. He taught at the Virginia Theological Seminary (now Virginia University of Lynchburg) from 1915 to 1928. In 1914, he married Rebecca Marsh; she died in 1917. Reed died in 1933 in Baltimore.
